Happy New Year, everyone!
I just wanted to write a post to say Happy New Year to everyone. Wherever you are celebrating, I wish you all good times and fun parties with family and friends. Stay safe and make sure to avoid all the wack-o's out there.... well unless you are one of the wack-o's then I don't know what to tell you :P
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for a great moly experience...this is the first exchange I joined and so far the most reliable. I am in a total of four at this point and getting frustrated with a few of the others. People just seem to be dropping like flies and the rest of us get left wondering what the devil is going on. So thank you to everyone for posting regularly and creating such a fun experience for a newbie :)
Because the other exchanges have made me paranoid I just wanted to ask...is dibujos! aka Kevin still with us? I don't remember seeing a post from him and was just curious if anyone knew his status. Seeing as there are so many of us in this exchange, I'm sure it's easy to get lost sometimes....Just thought I'd ask.
Hope everyone has fun tonight! Stay safe and Happy 2009 to all of you!! Woo hoo!!
Bf66's Entry in Bill/EsekOne' s Moly
Me again!
Today I finished my entry in Bill's Moly, so I'm posting it as well.
I decided to keep some elements from Bill, 'copying' them but using them differently: the idea of the insect eaters; the little butterflies and the flowers, drawn 'in Bill's style'; the little green 'swarming' points.
So you have a nice couple of bean monsters enjoying a picnic out on a sunny day. One of the monsters is trying to catch butterflies for the breakfast; the other is making a butterfly-butter&bread snack. In the meanwhile, a little monster kid's inspecting a worm with a magnifying glass.
I used fibre pens, pencils and 'pencil dust' (I don't know how to say it English: when you sharpen a pencil and use the sharpened bits of colour to draw a dusty background - tell me the name of this if you know, please).
I'm posting Bill's entry on his Moly as a 'reminder', and my entry!
Bill, tell me if you like it! I hope it!
*B*
To Bill: I'm afraid you forgot to put your adress on the fist page of you own Moly, under the indication 'in case of loss...' (a very important piece of info, I think). Would you mind if I do it for you? I have your complete address on the envelopes and I can manage Greek letters. If you allow me to do it, I'll do it.
Bf664's Entry in Jesse's Moly, with picture
Hi, everyone! My scanner seems to have recovered, so I can finally post a picture of the entry I did some weeks ago in Jesse's Moly.
If you take a look at one of my older posts where I describe the drawing, you will be able to read an 'explanation'. Here I'm also posting the photo, so you have the whole thing.
I'm uploading Jesse's entry, than Jesse+Bill/Esek entries, then mine alone- which is the Xmas one.
Hope you like it!

Entry in Jessica's Moly
Dear all,
I've completed my entry in Jessica's Moly (which also features Esek's drawing), but I'm not able to post any picture of it. My scanner doesn't work anymore (I'm getting mad at it and I think I'll smash the damn thing up soon!), so I just can't send you any preview of how the Moly looks so far.
Anyway, I'll try to describe the entry. Given the fact that it's almost Xmas and all this enjoyable atmosphere's around, I got carried away by it. So I have drawn a spooky Father Xmas bringing his sack with presents. The sack is ripped and some presents have fallen and they're quequeing behind Santa Claus: a yellow bean monster, two haunted gift boxes hitting each other with candy sticks, a lollypop licking a puppet boy on the face and more other cute/spooky characters.
I've tried to keep two elements from Jessica and Esek's entries: the horizontal quequeing of the characters (Jesse and Esek) and the purple carpet (Esek). If you take a look at the pictures of they're entries you'll see what I mean.
That's all. Happy vacations to all of you!
*B*
PS Of course, J's Moly'll be sent very soon to Cirus.

Yoda's moly book is getting some bling, baby!
So upon receiving Lady Orlando's book from Michael Nightmare, I noticed something very humorous. It seems Mr. Nightmare decided to pull out the ol' gold pen and put a few gold caps on his ghosts. I, of course thought this was hysterical, but put it out of mind and got to drawing my entry. I decided at the beginning of my entry to use minimal colors and to leave the background open in a similar fashion to both Yoda and Michael, which is something I don't normally do, but I must admit I am pleased with the results.
Anywoo...as I was nearing the end of my shading and coloring in, I looked back over Yoda's book and those gold teeth kept popping out at me. Making me smile and I thought you know what? One of my monsters needs some gold chompers too. Only, me being me, and my sick sense of humor I took it a step further and gave my little guy a diamond grill, LOL. Yoda, I hope you get as much of a kick out of this as I did...because those four little rhinestones were a pain in the butt! LOL. Here, for your enjoyment is a close up of the grill, hee hee...

Ekaterina's Moly arrives via Josh
Ekaterina's lovely book has arrived with Josh's addition, it looks great, Josh also illustrated the envelope, which I have included in the picture.
Esek-one I forgot to say Josh's book is on its way to you, posted about three days ago!
I love the hot colours and delicate gold in Ekaterina's book and Josh's little people.........so will have to think about what to add to this?
Jess

Lady Orlando's Moly arrived safe and sound...
Just an update... I received Lady Orlando's moly in the mail on Friday from Mr. Nightmare (by the way - coolest last name ever!) and was so surprised at the artwork in front of me. Seeing these molies online and looking at the screen does absolutely nothing for the subtlety when holding them in your hands.
Yoda, I don't know how you did it...but those hatch marks on the ghosts are just beautiful. I am both mesmerized and completely jealous....I've no idea how to shade ghosts, lol.
And Michael...oh my goodness, I am stumped on how to incorporate those smooth feathery-like lines into my portion of the artwork. They are just gorgeous up close, I am torn on whether to use them in my piece or find a way to transition away from them....hmmmmm...too many decisions. Hee hee.

My entry in Josh's moleskin!
Sorry it has taken me a while, it's a little more nerve wracking adding to someone Else's moleskin but I got there in the end. Here are my monsters, a kind of mummy monster leading her offspring to whatever may be going on through the following pages?
Very grey days mean it's difficult to get a nice picture so I took a few!
I am also unsure as to whom I am sending Josh's moleskin to now, if anyone knows can you send me details, thank you very much.
Jessica's Moly's here in Italy
I received Jessica's Moly yesterday. Her drawing, plus Esek's entry, are amazingly beautiful.
So far, I've got two journals in my hands and I should start working on them asap - I believe. I got so many images floating in my head that I'm not able to make up my mind! :)
Again, I'm really happy to be part of this group, which seems to be going on nicely! Thanks Bill for strarting it - thank you all for joining!
Bye,

Lady Orlando's Monsters
Thursday, November 20, 2008
Hi, everyone!
I have received Michael’s moly from Kelley today. Now I have two molys for this exchange. It makes me a little bit nerves. I still have only line drawing in Kelley’s moly.
And I have a question: this exchange will work only if we have full circle. Did anybody contact Kevin from Colombia? Is he still with us? Hi did not post anything here.

Michael's Moly Thus Far....
Okay...so after getting Michael's moly last week, and noticing just how close we are geographically I had to make some sort of reference to the area. What better way than to include one of my monsters wearing a t-shirt from the so-called Happiest Place on Earth? (hee hee) Michael, I hope you like it. I tried to keep your bright color palette going, and even managed to bring your textured, swirly background over a bit farther. Sorry for the cut and paste job in Photoshop, but I wanted you to see it in all it's horizontal glory :)

Bill's Moly's in Italy
Just a short note to inform that Esek_one's Moly is here in Italy! Great! Bill's entry is absolutely amazing (even more than it seemed in picture) and very original. I'm starting to plan my drawing to be made next to his on the Moly.

My Moly, ready to fly to Spain...
Hi, everyone!
Here it is my entry in my own Moly (sorry for the bad quality of the scanned image). I know it's very simple, but I like very simple but colourful things. The title of this drawing is: "It's time to connect our monstrous bits". Just imagine the spooky inhabitants of all our brains, hands, ears, eyes,...all trying to assemble, all struggling to reach for each other, all moving and transforming...and then again separating and going for other bits somewhere else! :)
Hope you like it.
Anyway, I'm going to give it a final hand of colour and then I'm sending it to Cirus on next Monday (post offices are closed this weekend here).
Bye,
bf664

monster mash
Hi everyone, finally finished, I was so tired last night I accidently filled four pages, didn't realise my mistake until it was too late!
I don't think this will be a problem as there are still three pages each, sorry about this!
I'm not sure who the monsters are in my picture, maybe all of them! the princess has organised a tea party but the monsters were not invited to this halloween treat and Sylvie has been asked to protect the princess........but Sylvie looks pale maybe bewitched.......will she use that dagger or will she show mercy?........is the princess serving up spells and potions at her tea party? or is she really an innocent victim?.....I've no idea so this is on it's way to you Esek.

esek_one's monsters travelling to Italy
Thursday, October 23, 2008
My first attempt went....errrrr, okay.
So...this is what I have so far. I made a HUGE mistake in my moly...I drew my sketch in pencil, inked it in and was just loving my little characters and then I thought, you know I'm gonna try something new - and I hated it!! So I had to try and figure out how to fix my huge brain fart...Ultimately I redrew the characters on watercolor paper and pasted them over a dark, ink and watercolor sky, I'm still fixing my background and there is actually one more character that you can't see, but maybe he'll be a surprise to all of you when you get my book :)
Also if you look very closely at the right had side you can still see a bit of the green monster who has vanished into the night, hee hee.

Introducing myself - ilovetodoodle
Hello everyone! I'm Kelley also for the purposes of our exchange, ilovetodoodle. I live in Southern California, USA and work fulltime at a boring desk job while I search for that dream art job. I went to school and graduated in Illustration. While I know how to work with digital mediums, nothing can replace a pencil and paintbrush for me. I love the old school method, what can I say?
Most of my work is geared towards children's books, but I also really enjoy life drawing and getting my hands dirty while painting. Favorite medium? has to be watercolor. It's one of the most natural mediums for me and I absolutely love to blend and bleed my colors together...I wish oils were more like that.
I've got my moly started and the drawing is all hashed out...now I just need to get in their and add the color, which has always been the slowest part of my process. However, I am very excited about my first exchange, so I doubt I'll be able to keep myself away from it for long.

It's Me....Michael Nightmare
Hello Everyone,
I go by the name of Michael Nightmare...its my cool artist name haha. I am an art education major which means I teach high school art... specifically photography. I love drawing as well even though its not my strong point in art but I strive everyday to get better and this whole moly exchange is really helping out a lot. I am looking forward to getting artwork from everyone in this group. I love using water color but I am also always trying new mediums.
as far as exchange order usually there is one order that everyone follows other wise some of us may end up with no moly at one point or too many at one point. The best way i've found to set the mail out order is by geographical location and by the first person to finish. The group leader in the end should decided on the order and post it on the side bar.

Introducing myself - BF664
Hello everyone!
I am very happy to see this group's 'warm up'-postings (questions, first introducing posts and all the rest). Good! So here I am to add my contribution to the launching phase of the MonstersThemedMolyX46.
As you know, my nickname is bf664 and I'm writing/drawing/posting from Italy.
I just got my new Japanese Moly (JM) and I can't wait to start working on it. Can't you see the small green monster hands that are already holding it? (Sorry for the poor quality of the picture - I've used a fortune scanner)!!
As suggested from previous comments, I will set the them for my personal JM: cute monsters.
Happy drawing to all of you!
B
